Our Vision
We seek to build a political system that puts the many over the money. We fight to make government more transparent, accountable, and responsive to the people by advancing campaign finance reform, strengthening government ethics, reducing the influence of special interests, and empowering citizens to participate in our democracy.
Money Out Of Politics
Our democracy should not be for sale. We support reforms that reduce the influence of wealthy donors, corporations, and special interests in elections and public policy while increasing transparency in political spending.
Our Priorities
Gradually eliminate corporate PACs. End the ability of for-profit corporations to establish and operate PACs and phase out existing corporate PACs over time.
Reduce the influence of large political contributions. Encourage a political system where small donors and ordinary citizens have a greater voice in elections.
Strengthen disclosure requirements. Require greater transparency around political contributions, expenditures, and the sources of political funding.
Combat dark money. Increase transparency around organizations and individuals funding political activity so voters can better understand who is attempting to influence elections and public policy.
Strengthen enforcement of campaign finance laws. Ensure campaign finance rules are effectively enforced, and violations carry meaningful consequences.
A Government We Can Trust
Public office is a public trust. Elected officials and government employees should be held to strong ethical standards and should never be able to use public office for personal financial gain.
Our Priorities
Ban individual stock trading by federal elected and executive officials and their immediate families. Members of Congress, the President, Vice President, Cabinet members, senior federal officials, and their spouses and dependent children should be prohibited from buying, selling, or holding individual stocks that could create conflicts of interest.
Establish the same standard for stock trading at the state level. Governors, lieutenant governors, state legislators, cabinet officials, agency heads, and other senior state officials, along with their immediate families, should be prohibited from buying, selling, or holding individual stocks that could create conflicts of interest.
Strengthen financial disclosure requirements. Require public officials to provide timely and comprehensive disclosures of their financial interests so the public can identify potential conflicts of interest.
Strengthen revolving door restrictions. Prevent former elected officials and senior government employees from immediately using their government positions, relationships, or insider knowledge for private gain.
Increase transparency around public officials and policymaking. Require greater disclosure of officials’ financial interests, gifts, travel, meetings with lobbyists, and other activities that could influence government decisions.
Power To The People
Our democracy belongs to the people. We support policies that make voting accessible, protect the integrity of elections, and ensure that every eligible citizen can meaningfully participate in our democracy.
Our Priorities
Protect the right to vote. Ensure every eligible citizen can participate in elections without unnecessary or discriminatory barriers.
Make voter registration more accessible. Expand convenient opportunities for eligible citizens to register and keep their voter registration information up to date.
Expand access to voting. Support reasonable opportunities for early voting, absentee voting, and other accessible methods of casting a ballot.
Protect voting access for people with disabilities. Ensure polling places, registration systems, and voting procedures are accessible to all voters.
Strengthen election administration. Ensure election officials have the resources, training, and technology needed to conduct secure, accurate, and accessible elections.
Protect voters and election workers from intimidation. Ensure that threats, harassment, or coercion do not prevent people from participating in elections.
